Nomad revision history Revision 33.4 07/16/2008 * Fixed elevation errors with the new stow bracket. Revision 33.3 06/17/2008 * Re-Branded 32.5 software to 33.3 software * Regions are now stored between finds. So if the user selects a region one time. The region will continue to be in effect until another region is selected. Revision 32.5 06/12/2008 * Added a region search to the software. It is accessed by holding down the find button. When it is held down it will step through a series of lights that determine region. The region will determine the initial skew and elevation to search at. The skew will only be changed for StarChoice. * Made changes to the search pattern. Specifically for Star Choice. If the Nomad II determines that it needs an initial skew it will skew the dish but instead of returning to the start it will seach a window when the last satellite was found. * Fixed ID parameters for AMC 6 at 72 West. * Fixed ID Parameters for Intelsat 5 79 West. Revision 32.4 05/08/2008 * We found a problem with the re-peak software on some boards. This problem was fixed. Revision 32.3 05/05/2008 * Changed the window for 91 to 101. This was off in Florida. Revision 32 05/02/2008 * Found a bug in the software that caused some Nomads with Executive mounts not to switch satellites properly. * Changed to software to trigger sooner after it has found the first satellite. * Changed the window from 82 to 91 for some systems in Canada executive 24 inch mounts. Revision 31.7 04/16/2008 * Changed the search window for MHDTV system in Florida from 119 to 110 There is a lot of GPS software in this build. Revision 31.6 03/12/2008 * Changed to software for the SL5. There were problems in Oregon with the current software. This should fix those problems. I Hope that it makes the BBC work better also. Revision 31.5 03/06/2008 * Changed the Dual peak routing to calculate skew better. Revision 31.4 * There was a problem with the software that would show up at times as the dish continuing to move back into the same area and peak. This was caused by the dish not moveing back to where it stopped before continuing to search for the satellite. This was fixed. * There was a problem in the software that would cause some dishes to move down in elevation after the skew dish routine. The lowest elevation is when the LNB's are flat so moving down after a skew is a problem. This was fixed. * There were times if the dish did not do the initial skew properly that the dual peak routing could force it off signal. This was fixed. * The skew calculation had to change for the new HD mount. Revision 31.2 02/04/2008 * Changes for StarChoice in Florida. Revision 31 01/31/2008 * Changed software in Quartzsite to fix problems that were being experianced with the DP3 mount. This was a fix to the signal trigger and to some windows. Revision 30.3 01/25/08 * Changed search window from 129 to 119. This problem seemed to be in Arizona. * Changed software so that Freedom controllers could switch between 101 and 119. Revision 30.2 01/23/08 * Changed an internal counter that effects the burn in. Revision 30 01/22/08 Lock, DVB, Peak, Find * Changes search window from 119 to 129. This was mostly for Florida. Revisoin 29.5 01/03/08 * Changed Skew counts for european mount * Changed Azimuth limit for Exec HD mount Revision 29.4 12/27/07 * Fixed problems with skewable mounts when some satellites are on one side of the hard stop and some are on the other side. Revision 29.3 12/19/07 * Changed the Dual peak routine so that if the elevation was within a half degree then it would ignore azimuth. * Changed the Dual peak routine to take into account that there are more motor counts per degree in azimuth on the new Exed HD mount. Revision 29 12/17/07 Lock, DVB, Peak and Stow * Changes to peaking and identification routines for Star Choice * Changes for Exec HD Slimline mount. Revision 28.4 11/09/07 Lock, DVB and Peak * Adjusted the Elevation limit on open face mounts for the 10 tooth sprocket. Revision 28.2 10/30/07 Lock, DVB and Peak * Adjusted parameters for the 12 inch dome in the software. Revision 28 10/30/07 Lock, DVB and Peak * Additional changes to the software that determines if the satellite is in the right place. * Additional changes for the MD1000. Revision 27 10/18/07 Lock, DVB, Find and Stow * Changes to the satellite identification. Sat 148 was identifying as Satellite 82. Revision 26 09/13/07 Lock, DVB and Find * Minor fixes for the MD1000 mount. There are times when the MD1000 would peak for an extended time. This has been fixed. Revision 25 08/24/07 Lock, DVB and Stow * Re-branded version 24 minor revision 3 to version 25 Revision 24 minor 3 08/23/07 * There was a problem with the software that checks to see if the satellite is in the proper place. If the skew was large it may think that the satellite had moved when it was just the dish that had skewed. This code was fixed. This mostly effected the MD500 mount on dish network and bell expressvu. Revision 24 minor 2 08/23/07 * There where a couple of problems with the StarChoice code causing satellites to be miss identified. Revision 24 07/26/07 Lock and DVB * The last changes for version 23 broke the MD500 code. The MD500 is fixed in this release. Anyone trying to run an MD500 with version 23 will need to upgrade to 24. Revision 23 07/16/07 Lock, Peak, Find and Stow RLS * Added new modes for the new MD1000 mount and an option for Dish Network to go to the 129 satellite Revision 23D Lock, Peak, Find and Stow RLS * Added additional linear satellites east of 87. * Changed the code that decided if there was a need for and initial skew for the Star Choice satellites. * Changed the code for the elevation to search at after the initial skew on Star Choice. This will now search at the same elevation as where the last satellite was found. * Changed the code for where the search starts for Star Choice satellites. After a test dish I will search at 530 motor counts. After a successful find then I will start searching at the elevation of the highest satellite in the sat table with and elevation addition of the number of degrees of the last skew in counts. Revision 23A Lock, Peak, Find and Stow RLS * Adjusted parameters for 12 inch dome. * Removed some of the re-peaking that is taking place on systems with multiple satellites. * For Star Choice systems I am now starting the search at a default elevation In Eastern Canada it seems that the system would search too low and have problems with low satellites. It should be searching higher. Revision 22 04/11/07 Lock, Peak and Find RLS * Re-Branded the software to be version 22. This is the same as what we were calling version 21L. * Softare was added for the 12 inch Domed system. * The software was verified with the MD1000 system that is soon to be released. Revision 21 03/26/07 Lock, Peak and Stow RLS * Extensive work on Star Choice software. Revision 21 02/22/07 Lock, Peak and Stow RLS * Change the search window for 110 to 101. At lease one MHDTV system in southern californina Chula Vista area was having problems finding satellite. I added 3 additional degrees to the azimuth search window Revision 21 02/21/07 Lock, Peak and Stow RLS * Fixed some problems with the Star Choice Code. Added an initial skew if in East. Fixed the transponder that does verification. Added a second check on some transponders. Revision 21 02/01/07 Lock, Peak and Stow RLS * Added Star Choice code for the new Star Choice mount. Revision 21 01/22/07 Lock, Peak and Stow RLS * Re-Compiled the 01/17/07 release of version 20 so that it would be branded as version 21 and have a new light pattern. Revision 20 01/17/07 Lock and Peak RLS * MD500 are having problems in Arizona being able to find both 110 adn 119 I changed the min azimuth search window. Revision 20 01/03/07 Lock and Peak RLS * MHDTV was having problems in lower California. I allowed the min elevation window for 110 to 101 to be 8 instead of 5 degrees. Revision 20 12/13/06 Lock and Peak * Satellite 129 was also not identifying properly. This was fixed. Revision 19 12/12/06 Lock, Find and Stow * Satellite 82 was not identifying properly. This was fixed. Revision 18 12/7/2006 Lock and Find * Satellite 148 was not identifying properly. This was fixed. Revision 17 Lock and Stow * Satellite 91 was not identifying properly in Arizona. This was fixed. Revision 16 09/25/2006 Lock * Satellite 148 was not identifying properly. This was fixed. * Added a new DirecTv mode. This allows for a 101 / 119 switch. So in the new mode the dish will move between 101 and 119 using the find key. Revision 15 05/31/2006 DVB, Peak, Find and Stow * Satellites 82, 129 and 148 were not identifying properly. These were fixed. * If the Freedom searches the full sky it will now give up and stop instead of searching at the limits continuously. Revision 14 03/10/2006 DVB, Peak and Find * All mounts now move to full elevation before stowing. * Fixes were made in the total skew movement calculation. This resulted in better skew calculations. * The changes in skew calculations for Florida seemed to work however one of the software enhancements for the new tuner was causing multiple peaks on sat 110 and then a failure on finding 119. This routine was worked on extensively. * In areas where the skew is more than 30 degrees the system may peak on the same satellite 2 or three times before finding the right satellite if there are satellites that are 10 or fewer degrees apart in longitude. Revision 12 DVB and Peak * Because of better peaking in version 11 skew calculations were off in Florida for MHDTV dishes. Changes are being tested in this version. * Software enhancement to use the new tuner. * Changes to software for DirecTv. The system will no longer move between 101, 110 and 119. It will only stay on 101 for DirecTv customers. The receivers could not handle the change anyway. Revision 11 DVB, Find and Stow * Changed search. This is mostly for Bell ExpressVu customers. One of the satellites the Bell has is weaker in the extreme south US than the other. The search now focuses on the more powerful satellite when searching for Bell. This is so that Bell customers can get locked. * Changed counting routines slightly. Counts should be more accurate. Revision 10 12/22/05 DVB and Find * There was some code added in version 9 to test the tuner. If the tuner failed it would cause the positioner to lock up. I made it so the code would cause an error instead of lock up. * There was some peaking code added to version 9 that could cause the system to lock up if it peaked too close to the limit. This condition was fixed. Revision 9A DVB and Stow * Because 110 or 119 must be found before other satellies. The search was longer. Added code to make system initialy search at where it found 110 or 119 last time. This mainly speeds up Bell ExpressVu customers because The elevation of their last satellite can be significanly different than that of 110 or 119. Revision 9 12/14/05 DVB and Stow * Changed most motor wait states. This made the dish faster * Changed the algorithm that identified satellites. This should eliminate the false positive readings that I was getting off some satellites. * Changed the peaking routine. It is now more accurate. Revision 8 DVB * Transponder 11 was lit up on Sat 129 in Texas. This was causing a verifcation problem because now it looks like 119. Version 8 is a quick fix for this problem. Version 9 will be a more permanent fix for all satellites. This version only released to dealers in Texas. Revision 7 09/20/05 Peak Find and Stow * There were some issues with the calculation of the skew in the Extreme Northeast for dish network MD500 dishes. * There was a bug in the software that would make a system think that it was on satellite even it it was not. This only happened after the skew. If the dish missed the satellite all together. It would flash an error saying that it could only find the secondary satellite but there would be no satellite at all. * The MD500 Dish would go the wrong way in elevation after it skewed. Thus missing the satellite. * There were issues switching between domed systems and open faced dishes. * Dish network messed with the FEC codes on the 119 satellite. The software was updated to account for this change. Revision 6 08/16/05 Peak and Find * Changed the software for all domed systems. The system will now automatically find satellite anytime a dome is attached to it. After if finds satellite it will automatically shut off. When turned back on if it is on satellite it will move to the next satellite. If it is not on satellite it will automatically stow and then go find satellite. This will work for all options which are single dish. * The operation of the freedom controller has not changed. The freedom controller will only find 101 in DirecTv mode, 91 in Bell ExpressVu mode and 119 and 110 in Dish Network mode. No other mode is available on the freedom controller. Revision 5 08/03/05 Peak and Stow * Added delays in turning on and off motors. * Changed the text menus. Added some motor movement. Added more test capabilities on DVB code. Revision 4 07/18/05 Peak * Upon stowing the positioner will shut off unless there is an error. * If the positioner is stowed it will shut off after two minutes. * Changed some of the burn in code. Revision 3 07/07/05 Find and Stow * Initial release
