Nomad revision history Version 18 07/07/05 Stow and Lock * The temperature sensor would stop the dish from working. Fixed the software so that if the unit was over temperature then it would still work. Also if the unit goes over temperature while it is searching then it will finish the search before flashing the over temperature warning. So if the positioner is over temperature the customer will never see lock. As soon as the dish is locked it will flash the over temp warning. Version 17 07/01/05 Stow and Power * Added support for our new dome. Version 16 04/13/05 Stow * There was a bug in the routine that would re-start the search if the NOMAD missed the satellite after is skewed. This would cause it to re-search but then not skew giving the primary satellite only. This was fixed. * There was a bug for people who only had one LNB. If they pressed find to go to a second satellite then it would not peak right. This bug was introduced in version 14 software by some of the changes. This was fixed. * Removed all automatic stow features. * If the test dish function failed no error codes were being displayed This has been fixed. Version 15 03/24/05 Lock, Power Peak, Find * Removed the requirement that the NOMAD search for a DVB satellite with a positive verification before verifying the DSS satellite at 101. This can be turned back on with a dip switch if DirecTV lights up more transponders on sat 75. * Code was added to make sure the nomad did not peak too close to the limit bar. Version 14 03/18/05 Lock, Peak, Find Never Officially Released * It was found that for extreme angles the calculations were not right. Adjustments were put in the code to make the calculation of the skew angle come out right. * It was found that in some situation durring a search that the system would give up without finding the satellite if the satellite was close to one of the limit bars. This was caused by the software not doing a full search in window 2. * There was quite a lot of work on search windows that were split by the limits. * It was found that at times the NOMAD would not find the satellite even though it landed on it. This was caused by the NOMAD trying to do a second verification after it had already verified the satellite. This was fixed. Version 13 02/10/05 Power, Peak, Find * There was a calculation error in the window from 148 to 101. This error caused that the nomad would not find the 101 satellite if it hit 148 first in the extreme northwest. Version 12 11/23/04 Find, Peak * Larger windows for 91 to 119. I had a customer in Conneticut. The system would find 91 but then never find 119. I believe that this takes care of all of the window problems. * Added Factory burn in codes. This burn in software uses switch 5. It will only work in factory made burn in boxes. This is factory only software. Version 11 11/04/04 Find, Pwr and Lock * Adjusted Gain to 25 for initial search * Gain will adjust down to 7 for peaking * East coast systems where having problems. Found a software bug. That moved the dish the wrong way after skew. * If after skew the dish misses the satellie. It will search a 5X5 window. * Some systems after finding 119 would find 110 instead of 101. They would Then search for 119 again. Then go back to 110. This could go on for ever. Fixed this problem. Version 10 10/21/04 Find and Lock * Added some diagnostic code. This will put data on the serial port. * Will not verify 101 satellite until it has verified some other DVB satellite. Version 9 09/20/04 Find and pwr * Some search windows have been modified. * DirecTV light up another satellite. Changed the code so that this new satellite would not be verified. This is a temporary quick fix until some new algorithm can be done. Version 8 08/25/04 * Work on Stationary Domes. Although they worked there were some problems that needed worked out. * The initial search was changed from 720 degrees to 360 degrees in azimuth. * The Azimuth Counts Per degree was wrong. This was fixed. * Elevation always went back to 40 degrees. Now it goes back to the elevation where the last satellite was found. Version 7 08/24/04 * There was a bug causing some error codes not to work. Specifically the error code that says that there is no DVB in the system but that a skewable dish is selected. If this code is not active then the dish will look like it is searching but will never stay on a statellite. This condition can be caused when a positioner is upgraded from version 4 software to a higher version and a dish test is not done. * There was a bug causing a slow move to the other satellites. This was fixed and secondary satellites are found faster now. * Once in a while the DVB board will lock up and not respond properly. There is software to detect this and reset the DVB. There was a bug in this software. It was fixed. * Added a new error code. If the software tries to reset the DVB board 5 times and there is still no response from it then it will stow and flash the stow and peak lights. * Added a feature. If the stow features are off. Then the dish will raise and find satellite without a receiver hooked to it. Version 6 08/19/04 * Added LED Test. All LEDs will light up for two seconds when unit is first turned on. * Added Version display. The software version will display for 2 seconds right after the LEDs come on * Version 5 code broke the single LNB dish bad. There were a lot of problems on single LNB dishes because many of the changes for version 5 did not take into account the single LNB dish. These problems where fixed. * Added a background peak when moving between satellites for single LNB dish Version 5 08/19/04 * There was still a problem with finding the satellite if the positioner had not been turned off. This was fixed. * There was a problem with some exec dishes finding satellite 101 expecially. I adjusted the sensitivity value. * Did a lot of work on HDTV for DirecTv with 3 LNB's * Implemented a background peak * Removed return to last satellite. It always just does a search when the find button is pressed from stow. * Improved skew calculations Version 4 07/29/04 * There was a bug. If the positioner was not turned off between moves it would reset two times while searching. This has been fixed. * Stow features were updated. The problems with mulitple LNB dishes and auto stow has been taken care of. You should no longer need to keep switch 2 on for people that regularly watch secondary satellites. * A feature was added to allow people with single LNB dishes to switch between satellites. The dish will switch up to 3 satellites. The sequence is: for Dish network. 119 and 110 for DirecTV 101, 110 and 119 for Bell ExpressVu 91 and 82 Simply press the find button to get the dish to go to the next satellite. Version 3 06/22/04 The blue led was on when stowed and off when not stowed. This was changed. The version was not changed. Version 3 06/16/04 There were some bugs in the previous version that made it so the new board would not work right mostly effecting the relay. These bugs were fixed. This was the only change. Version 2 6/11/04 Some changes were made to the nomad board to protect the RF Relay switch. These changes need software. Also a circuit was added so that voltage on the circuit could be monitored in case the customer hooked it up wrong. This new software needs to work on version 1 and version 2 boards. Which are actually version 3 and version 4 boards. * Routines where added to turn on and off the RF Relay switch. * Version checking code was added to test for backward cable hookups on the new board. * Changes were made so that a dish test can be done at any time. There were issues with new board where a single LNB dish test had to be done before a multiple LNB dish test could be done. * Added a re-search function if find is pressd when On-Sat in multiple LNB mode. * Changed code for the test dish function so that if switch 1 is on then it will only do one test dish. If Switch 1 and 2 are on then it will do a continious test dish cycle. * Added a show mode. Switch 4 on will do a continious show cycle
